Comment: Used to produce the metal plates for graphic blocks. An illustration, map, drawing, etc was placed on a large board to the left (not show) and the image exposed onto a glass plate in a cartridge attached to the back of the camera. This plate was then placed in contact against a zinc or copper plate treated with a light sensitive emulsion and exposed using a very bright argon lamp. The metal was then chemically etched to produce a relief of the image which was then mounted on a wooden block at type high .918 inches (23.3mm) to be placed in a force with text and printed. Hunter Penrose built thousands of these cameras and exported them world wide. The last wooden bodied camera was build around 1962!
